Radiant Radfloor

Here at Radiant Heating Solutions, we’ve partnered with leading international manufacturers to develop the Radiant Radfloor: a full range of products for the underfloor heating market.

The components within the system are designed to work as either a stand-alone circuit or part of a hybrid system. The room controls only activate the heat source when one or more floor loops are operating, saving energy and reducing running costs.

System Components

Our multi-layered pipe is made of cross-linked polyethylene with the aluminium longitudinally welded by ultrasonic wave in an overlapping method. This makes it strong and resilient enough to withstand temperatures of up to 70°C at 10 bar pressure. At the same time, it’s flexible and easy to use.

What’s more, there are no joints as the pipe runs in a continuous coil, giving extra protection against leaks. Our standard pipe is 16mm, although we sometimes use different pipe sizes for some special floor types. For example, we use 11.6mm pipework for overlay or floating floors, whilst larger commercial applications may require 20mm pipes.

Underfloor heating systems installed in screed floors can also be used as partial cooling for your home or office. Please contact us for information.

This is a solid, one-piece chromed brass body incorporating flow meters; balancing valves; isolating valves fitted with thermometers; automatic air vents; a pressure gauge; fill and drain valves; and sound-damped mounting brackets. The large flow meters make it easy to balance the floor system and enable trouble-free operation once set.

The manifold can either have a pump control pack, consisting of a pump and mixing valve, directly fitted, or it can be part of a larger, centrally-pumped heating system.

We normally use a simple, push-in plastic barbed staple system to fix the pipework to the floor insulation. However, some floor types require a ‘clip rail’ to hold the pipes in place. For suspended timber floors, we tend to use a different clipping method.

You can choose to have a single control point for all your underfloor heating, or separate controls in each room. If the floor type is the same for the entire area, you can use one central control to set the timing and temperature of your heating.

However, you may prefer to have individual thermostats for each room, so you don’t waste energy heating areas that aren’t used much. The Radiant Radfloor heating systems offers a choice of controls for multi-room thermostats.

  1. Basic control dial and time clock

This simple set-up uses a central time clock to control the times your underfloor heating goes on and off. The temperature in each room is controlled by individual thermostats.

  1. Touch screen programmable room thermostat. Our 5/2 touch screen lets you control the times your underfloor heating comes on in each room, as well as setting the temperature. The thermostats have a built-in reduced temperature feature called ‘night set back’ that automatically reduces the room temperature when your heating is off.
  1. Advanced programmable room thermostats

Our Heatmiser® touchscreen programmable thermostats let you control the times your underfloor heating comes on in each room, as well as setting the temperature. The thermostats have a built-in reduced temperature feature called ‘night set back’ that automatically reduces the room temperature when your heating is off. Also includes WiFi connectivity

You can choose up to six different settings for every day of the week, giving you complete and precise temperature control. The stylish, ergonomic units are available in black or white to suit your home décor and are designed for unobtrusive recessed installation.
